<What is "Noh"?>
Noh is one of the Japanese traditional stage art, and the oldest theatrical art in Japan with its origin goes back to 14th century (around 650 years ago). It might be said “Japanese musical” as it combines drama, dance, musical instrument and voice music.
Noh and Kyogen(狂言) is one of the only stage arts in the world to have been passed down from generation to generation, parent to child, child to grand-child, and master to disciple, in an unbroken line for over 650 years.
Noh-gaku(能楽) was designated an “Intangible Cultural Heritage”, a “Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO.
